Having attained a BMus (Hons) from Goldsmiths, University of London, Marlis brings with her over 30 years of teaching experience and expertise, having taught piano and music theory privately and also within primary and secondary schools.
Passionate about teaching, Marlis also mentors students for GCSE Music, in particular with composition.
Marlis has accumulated many years of experience in ABRSM exam preparation both practically and theoretically, with excellent pass rates up to Grade 8 level.
Whilst enjoying the mainstream teaching of Piano and Theory with all ages and abilities, and across a wide range of musical genres, Marlis also has a particular interest in teaching relaxation techniques and mindfulness for performance, a technique which she has found very beneficial to her students when in comes to combatting nerves during a performance.
