Born in London, Marion initially studied singing and piano at Trinity College of Music, following up with post-graduate vocal studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Marion’s singing encompasses a range of genres and she has specialized early music as well as performing classical and romantic opera. She also sings music theatre, crossover and jazz. Amongst the companies she has sung for are Opera Holland Park and Opera Project, she performed the role of Eurydice with the Manning Camerata’s premier of Burial at Thebes, which was the first opera ever to be performed at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre.
She has also performed opera galas at The Royal Festival Hall, Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall and St. David’s Hall, Cardiff. As a soloist she has worked with numerous conductors including Paul Goodwin, Anthony Inglis and David Angus. Marion was selected as the guest soprano for tenor Russell Watson’s UK tour, singing arias and duets from the worlds most loved popular operas.
Recent work has been for Italian opera company Villa in Canto for whom she played Kate Pinkerton in Madam Butterfly and Maddalena in Rigoletto.
Marion is a regular solo guest artist with the London Concert Symphonia.
Alongside her work as a singer, Marion has over 25 years of experience teaching voice and piano. She works with students from beginner to advanced level, focusing on strong technical foundations and confidence building whilst keeping the lessons relaxed and enjoyable.
